Dan Maki moved that we give $30 to St. Mark’s at end of March in appreciation for use of their room. Motion approved.

V.    Other Reports
A.  State ICPE Board of Directors
We missed the ICPE board meeting last Friday. Cathy will ask Joel what happened. Elkhart is starting an ICPE group.

    B.  Communications and Web Site
        J. Robinson will edit by-laws to remove League of Women Voters references.

    C.  Programs
[NB: Post this meeting, we decided to cancel the March 30 date and have our healthy children event on Monday, April 6 at MCPL, Room 1B. We will try to schedule the testing event for early May--not April 24 or 25, which is the Network for Public Education conference.] We would like to have assessment directors from Brown County, RBB, and MCCSC, as well as someone from the DOE as well as an IU person who can talk about validity and reliability and put the tests in a historical perspective. Possible title: “Testing: When? What? How? Your Questions Answered.” J. Steinbachs suggested inviting local representatives to come (to be in the audience) or to send a staff person.

April 12: We will have a booth at the Children’s Expo with the theme, “Public schools are the heart of our community.” We need to bring goodies (not candy) and an activity of some kind. We discussed asking principals or PTOs to donate a photo and brief description of some special event or activity at their school.

D. Action Groups

E. Political News

F. Farmer’s Market
Cathy will check to see if we can use Phil and Joan’s storage again.
When is the sign-up? We need to request more optimal booth assignment.
Cathy will ask J. Livesay if she can help.
Jenny will ask K. Young if she can design a banner for us.
    D. Maki suggests having a petition and/or handouts.

VII.   New Business

A.    Janet Stake was appointed as a new board member to replace Mike Walsh, who wished to retire from that position.

VIII.  Other

Respectfully submitted,
 Jenny Robinson

We are dedicated to informing, inspiring, and empowering voters
to advocate on behalf of Indiana's children
and their right to a high-quality public education
